Bio
“I have always had a solid foundation in music thanks to my parents and the “gram player” whilst growing up listening to reggae, country & Western, Jazz, R&B and even pop (used to love watching Top of the Pops). I had always been on the raving scene long before I became a DJ dancing to the beats of lovers rock & revivals which admittedly was my first love in music from a child to my early teenage years then whilst in my mid teens I started to rave in more soul orientated clubs/house blues which then enhanced my love for the sounds of Rare Grooves! So then I became a converted soul head (as we used to call them back in the day!).

I became a DJ, some might say by accident, as I was asked out of the blue if I wanted to become a DJ and if yes, did I want to cover the shows on bank holidays so thought why not give it a go, (I will say that whoever think its easy are sadly mistaken, its not!!!) so I did my first show with the phone ringing continually as people were asking me “can you speak up please, enjoying the music but we can’t hear you” but believe me after a few more shows, that tiny voice of mine became louder and more confident so years later I have now been named the Drive Time Queen and actually won my first award in January 2011 as the “Best Roots FM Improver” and as they say the rest speaks for itself!

I love the buzz of performing in front of a live audience/crowd and am glad that there are a hosts of female DJs on the circuit showing their varied knowledge of music and as I am now part of the Roots FM drive time team, its rally does give me great pleasure to be able to bring my love and knowledge of music onto the airwaves to you and yours.

Join me every Friday evenings @ 6pm where its guaranteed, “I will get you ready for the weekend”.
